While I’m busy creating a new music video for you guys, I’ll take you down memory lane once again, and remember the ‘Black Eyes and Blue’ video with you.
Fun facts about ‘Black Eyes and Blue’:
This song is really about domestic violence, and is to me quite a tragic song. But most people experience it as a euphoric happy song.
A few of the people crashing the pool party at the end is actually on the Norwegian national team of snowboarding.
This song marked our ‘break-through’ in the music industry, when it became the official after movie track of the Ultra Festival, something we were the only Norwegian artists to achieve, until Kygo came along and did it, and people totally forgot about us already having been there.
Songwriter and vocals on this is the incredible Ingrid, the lead singer of HIGHASAKITE.
The music video we’re doing while I’m here in the US, is for my next single ‘Never Wanna Lose You’. I’m going to keep the featuring artist secret for a little while longer, but what I wanted to tell you is about this jacket! Pontus of P & J Styling was so kind and got this customized for me for this music video, and I’m so happy with it. I’m crazy for anything customized, but this jacket is currently my number one customized piece of clothing!
Finally Friday! I’ve had the most intense week, which also featured a bonding trip out of town with mye fellow The Voice mentors, Yousef from Madcon, Lene Marlin and Morten Harket. We had a great time at Refsnes Gods, and I got to try really fine wine for the first time (so far, the only fancy drink I’ve tried is fine vodka. There’s no fine wines in the club.) So apparently, I’m a wine person now!
This weekend I’m headed back on the road, and will visit Trysil for a show. Since it’s the first weekend of easter, I’m hoping for a great turn out.
I’m probably the first ever mentor in the history of “The Voice” which is not very commercial and not even a vocalist. I think it’s fun, and a little extra challenging. But it does mean that I need to broaden my horizon about top 40 music. To soften up my ears, I’ve created a Spotify playlist for just that. This is songs I would very much like to hear the participants sing during the competition. Is there a song you feel like is missing here?
You might remember a while back, I told you about the PO-14 SUB, the Pocket Synth from Teenage Engineering. It’s such a joy to play with, and I’ve used it a lot lately. But now, you can have it! I’m selling it on Letgo! Watch the video below (It’s in Norwegian, sorry.), and pick up the synth HERE. (Only for Norwegians, sorry.). If you want to get shopping in your own area, you can download the app HERE.
It might actually be spring already in Oslo! Today was so warm, we sat down in the park with no jacket on. I’m literally flabbergasted. But this happens every year. The winter is so long and dreary and then suddenly – Spring!
I absolutely love watches, and I’m a firm believer that a great watch can make any outfit. I’ve known the Norwegian brand Boe for years, and now they’ve done me the incredible honor of designing a style in my name! Say hello to the CLMD Time Rocker!
I love the gold and black steel combination, and this watch is like an echo of my wardrobe, so it goes with almost everything I have.
But it doesn’t actually stop there. This piece is getting a new dial these days, and it’s looking insanely cool. I can’t believe they’re writing CLMD all over this piece.
