It’s such a pleasure to play in Hemsedal. This place does not only hold one of the wiildest afterskis in the world, but it’s also home to the best promoter and host, Calle. I love doing gigs in collaboration with him. He’s such a pro and great guy. Make sure you stop by Stavkroa or Hemsedal Café if you’re in the area!
Today we’ve spent some time getting ready for tonights show, which means drinking prosecco in the slopes, without actually getting any skiing done. Even though we’re avid skiers, we forgot to take our skis with us. Maybe thankfully so, as there was an avalanche in the slopes today (nobody was hurt), and with our luck we’d probably be the ones who got the blame for it.
I’m hitting the road again this weekend. Saturday I’m heading for the mountains to play a show at what is supposed to be one of the best after-skis in the world, Hemsedal. I’ve been coming to Stavkroa in Hemsedal for years and it’s tons of fun every time. Calle, the man in charge up there, is also one of the greatest people to work with, and we always come up with a great show together. If you’re in the area, I hope you’ll stop by!
Last night I did something very much unlike myself – I stayed in, and spent the entire night watching the Norwegian Eurovision Song Contest. My good friend and colleague Joakim was competing (under the pseudonym JOWST) with a song I’ve had the pleasure to give my input on. He’s been working on the song for so long, and he is such a talented guy. With Aleksander Wallman on vocals and behind a LED-mask, he actually went and won the finale! He will now represent Norway in the international Eurovision finale in Kiev, Ukraine! So deserved, and so much fun that a modern-style EDM track will represent our country!
I do a substantial amount of traveling in a year, and I might have perfected the art of packing. As you can see, I’m not the most colorful traveller, but I like my things to be top quality, as they get banged around a lot when you travel.
I never go anywhere without my trusted Brics carry on suitcase. It maxes the amount of carry on you’re allowed to have, and to keep all my stuff in the hand luggage saves me huge amount of time, because I can just skip the entire baggage claim bit.
Secondly, you need a good toiletry case. It’s critical to have a case that won’t break during travel, and coat all your stuff in sticky product.
Sunglasses. Loads of travel and late night gigs tend to do something to your face. I hide tired eyes in my favorite sunglasses from SEE Eyewear.
As a DJ and producer I need to work while on the road. A good headset is essential. I go for Sennheiser, but I always keep a spare pair or two. Just in case, you know.
Perfume. Good for feeling fresh when you’re actually not. Also, always make sure you have deodorant with you.
I’ve keeping this secret for a while now, and finally it’s official. I’ll be one of four mentors on the Norwegian version of The Voice! This is the first time ever a non-vocal artist will be mentoring, and it’s so scary and fun! I hope to see a lot of talents that I can take to the next level, and if you’re a Norwegian aspiring popstar, you should apply by March 8th!
My good friend JOWST, who is now also competing in the biggest musical competition in Europe, Eurovision, has done me the honor of remixing one of my favorite tracks of my own making this past year, “Night Train” ft. Alida.
Check it out below, it was recently released with a bunch of other amazing track via Armada Trice!
